Assured Hospice of Clallam County is a regional leader in home health, hospice, homecare and medical staffing. Almost 30 years ago, in 1979, four public health nurses founded Assured to serve the citizens in Lewis County in their homes with quality nursing care.

In the mid 1990's the company had by then expanded into Mason and Thurston counties and opened three more offices but began suffering financially.  Richard D. Block, an experienced healthcare executive in Washington State, took over the company and saved the agency from financial ruin and preserved jobs for over 150 professionals, office staff and caregivers.

Under Mr. Block's leadership, the agency became employee owned (ESOP) and expanded into Clallam, Jefferson, Grays Harbor, Pacific, Cowlitz, Wahkiakum, and Portland, Oregon.  Mr. Block diversified the Company into homecare, hospice and medical staffing of hospitals in order to provide a balanced business model to protect employee's jobs and careers.

Today, Assured has grown to become one of the largest, regional agencies, and the only employee-owned agency, in the Northwest.  Assured has 9 offices and 300 employees.  Assured is also recognized as the leader in quality home health, hospice and home care in its service areas.  Recently, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) designated Assured as the only home health agency operating in Thurston, Mason, Lewis, Grays Harbor, Pacific, Cowlitz and Wahkiakum Counties to make the top 25% of all agencies nationwide!  Medicare measures the outcome results of all home health agencies and publishes the data on their web site www.Medicare.gov. OSC, Outcome Concept Systems, pulled the data into their leading database for home health and showed Assured to be among this elite group of agencies providing the best outcomes for patients in Southwest Washington.  Assured also received a rare deficiency-free survey from the Department of Health when last surveyed confirming the quality level of care and professionalism at Assured.
