Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County (VHOCC)
Compassionate
care for the terminally ill, their caregivers and their families
A Message from VHOCC Board President
Dear Volunteers and Hospice Supporters
It is a privilege and an honor to be in a position to lead this wonderful organization with its rich history of serving our community. My term as the President of the Board of Directors began January 1, 2012. It is my intention to keep VHOCC focused on 3 key areas; services, finances and volunteers.
We will continue to provide professional and
compassionate care for our hospice patients by providing volunteers,
procedures, medical equipment and medical supplies so that our nurses
can support our patients and their families.
Increasing our annual income from donations and bequests so that it
exceeds our carefully analyzed expenses is ongoing. We cannot continue
to lose money each year since our reserves will not last indefinitely.
Increasing our number of volunteers and training them for the following is vital to the success of carrying out our mission: key office positions, providing respite for caregivers, bereavement and educational programs and delivering supplies and equipment.
In a little over two years we have come from a pencil and eraser
“technology” to an electronic system that is bringing VHOCC into the
21st century and allowing all of us to better serve our patients and our
community. A big thanks to each of you volunteers for all that you have
done to adapt to the new technology and procedures.
With your feedback we will continue to improve and
grow our Volunteer Hospice.
An old Chinese proverb said it quite well. “If we don't change our direction, we are likely to end up where we are headed.”
Please send your suggestions and observations to president@VHOCC.org so
that we can make the changes that will keep us on the right path.
